Geo-Irrigation's services operate on a prepaid system, and the available balance reflects the prepaid amount. This can be topped up by clicking the provided button and following the process. An invoice is automatically sent via email as soon as any payment is made
All fields requiring recommendations are set up in this section. Field details are configured once, saved in a database and can be activated for different crops in future seasons. Fields are easily mapped or selected on the provided geographic map. If any field's parameters change, even while a crop is being managed, adjustments can be made.
Users can create their own strategy or recipe for irrigating a crop. The advantage is that once a recipe works, it can be repeated year after year. Sometimes, a user may want to over-irrigate or under-irrigate a crop slightly. A good example of planned over-irrigation is when the soil is slightly saline, requiring extra irrigation to remove salts. Another example is a field that experiences more wind and thus requires more water than others on the farm. Some strategies are also specific to certain cultivars.
A session combines
the following elements to activate recommendations:
- The field where the crop is planted
- Planting date
- Strategy to be followed
- Method to determine when recommendations should automatically stop
This section stores details of all individuals to whom irrigation recommendations should be sent. These contacts can be updated or added over time. Recommendations can be sent via email or WhatsApp.
A summary of all
field-specific recommendations can be scheduled for daily delivery, or at a
minimum, once a week. Notification preferences are set here. For example, a
typical user may choose to receive updates every Monday and Thursday.
Monday’s recommendation
would cover irrigation needs for Monday to Wednesday, while Thursday’s
recommendation would cover Thursday to Sunday.
Leading agricultural service providers often manage water usage on behalf of their clients and also utilise the platform for marketing purposes. Custom marketing messages can be configured in this section and will be automatically included at the bottom of all outgoing emails.
